Abstract

Resumo: A Gramática de Construções Diacrônica se consolidou nos estudos mais recentes como uma abordagem que permite explicar não só a emergência e o desaparecimento de construções como também as alterações nos elos entre as diversas construções de uma rede. Com base nessa perspectiva teórica, focalizamos, neste artigo, a rede de construções causais do português ao longo dos períodos arcaico, clássico e contemporâneo do português. Nosso objetivo principal é identificar as mudanças nos elos entre as diferentes construções causais. Tomamos como vetor de análise o domínio em que se instaura a relação de causalidade (referencial, epistêmico e atos de fala). A análise da distribuição das construções causais de acordo com o tipo de elo causal que instanciam permitiu constatar não apenas uma distribuição bastante diferenciada das construções causais ao longo dos séculos como também alterações significativas na maior ou menor centralidade de cada uma delas em um ou outro domínio, indicando sua expansão ou especialização de uso ao longo de sua evolução.

Abstract: Diachronic Construction Grammar has been consolidated in the most recent studies as an approach that allows explaining both the emergence and disappearance of constructions as well as the changes in the links between the various constructions of a network. Based on this theoretical perspective, we focus on the network of causal constructions over the archaic, classic and modern Portuguese. Our main goal is to identify changes in the links between the different causal constructions. We took as an analysis vector the domain of the causal relation (content, epistemic, and speech acts). The analysis of the distribution of causal constructions according to the type of causal link they instantiate allowed to verify not only a quite different distribution of causal constructions over the centuries, but also significant changes in the greater or lesser centrality of each of them in one or another domain, indicating expansion or specialization of use throughout its evolution.
