Resumo: Paris seduz pela herança de séculos de prestígio e notoriedade, atrai pelo patrimônio artístico, cultural e arquitetônico, e agrega toda sorte de visitantes. Dentre os seduzidos pela cidade, encontra-se o rastaquera, estrangeiro afortunado que se destaca em meio a outros forasteiros, e que, ao longo do século XIX, se torna recorrente personagem das literaturas ficcional e jornalística. Respaldados numa perspectiva que dialoga com a história cultural, examinaremos alguns aspectos da representação da figura do rastaquera, personagem urbano e literário: “estrangeiro parisiense” (Lamure, 2018), notável figura que contribui à “lisibilidade da cidade” (Stierle, 2001; Benjamin, 1985b), e exemplo do lado sombrio do cosmopolitismo de Paris (Charle, 1998). O rastaquera é objeto e alvo tanto da ópera bufa quanto da crônica periodística nacionalista. Flâneur às avessas, a menção ao herói baudelairiano reforça sua diferença e alteridade (Baudelaire, 1885).

Abstract: Paris seduces for its heritage of centuries of prestige and notoriety, attracts for its artistic, cultural and architectural heritage, and attracts all sorts of visitors. Among those seduced by the city, there is the rastaquouère, a fortunate foreigner who stands out among other outsiders, and who, throughout the nineteenth century, becomes a recurrent character in fictional and journalistic literatures. Supported by a perspective that dialogues with cultural history, we will examine certain aspects of the representation of the rastaquouère, an urban and literary character. “Parisian foreigner” (Lamure, 2018), a remarkable figure who contributes to the “lisibility of the city” (Stierle, 2001; Benjamin, 1985b), and an example of the dark side of Paris cosmopolitanism (Charle, 1998), the rastaquouère is an object and a target of both the opera buffa and the nationalist periodical chronicle. Reverse flâneur, the mention of the Baudelairean hero reinforces its difference and otherness (Baudelaire, 1885).
